Burma to end Shortwave broadcasts

With thanks to the Bulgarian DX blog comes the following news:

Democratic Voice of Burma ends radio broadcasting on shortwave

BURMA (non)   At the end of October the Democratic Voice of Burma will stop
transmissions on shortwave after 21 years of broadcasting. Current schedule
1430-1530 on 11560 DB  100 kW / 125 deg to SEAs Burmese
2330-0030 on 11595 DB  100 kW / 125 deg to SEAs Burmese

15150 Khz Madagascar R.Dabanga 15:35 UTC Arabic. Male announcer. Sounds like a discussion with correspondents. ID ‘R.Dabanga’ at various points in the discussion. SINPO: 44444 2014-08-18

15120 Khz Nigeria V.O. Nigeria 15:40 UTC English. Female announcer with discussion about financial problems in Europe. Strange heterodyne causing reduction in signal strength. id AT 15:42 SINPO: 43333 2014-08-18

Reception from S.E. Asia was extremely good this afternoon. I would ahve liked to stay on longer, but had to pick up the Memsahib from work. Hopefully I will be able to make some time tomorrow.
